New Patients

dr. gates and family Your First Visit
At your first visit to our office, a complimentary exam will be performed to determine if you need braces. You will be introduced to the Doctor and information regarding treatment will be exchanged. If it is determined that you are a candidate for orthodontic treatment and you would like to proceed with checking your options, an appointment for ?diagnostic records? will be recommended.

Records
Complete diagnostic records typically include a series of molds of your teeth, photographs with a digital camera, and special orthodontic x-rays. This information is used to develop a custom treatment plan for each patient. These records are also helpful in tracking the progress of treatment as the teeth move under orthodontic care.

Consultation
After the doctor has studied your diagnostic records, a consultation will be scheduled to discuss your treatment options in detail. At this appointment you may expect a fee to be quoted and payment options to be presented.

Regular Appointments
New Patient Forms
Before your New Patient Exam, we ask that you fill out the Patient Information & Health History form.
You can expect regular visits to be every 2-6 weeks. Typically the appointment time is half an hour. Our office puts forth great effort to try to keep these appointments before and after school, but on occasions we require longer appointments that involve more time and therefore are scheduled during the day.

Payment & Office Policies
Cost
The cost of treatment depends on the severity of each individual patient and their case. You will be able to discuss fees and payment options before treatment ever begins. Our office offers several different payment plans to suit every budget. We also accept assignment from most insurance plans and we will file the necessary papers for you. We work hard to make orthodontics affordable.
